I was asked to become part of the rising stars team after I had completed a documentary project at another youth group for people with special needs.
As a youth group the Rising Stars aim is to give the youth people a space to make friends, develop relationships and have a go at the large variety of artistic activities they had to offer. As part of the team I was asked to deliver basic photography workshops on a weekly basis to whoever wanted to learn about photography.
Our aim was to develop a portfolio of images that would show all the different activities the group did both in and out of the youth group like the trips and events they held on a regular basis.
I ran a selection of workshops teaching them about framing and lighting, and printing using the small portable printers.
